Abstract

This study is an attempt to outline the demographic history of the parish of Moreton Say, in North East Shropshire, between 1690 and 1840 on the basis of a family reconstitution project and of aggregative analysis, and to relate this outline to the agrarian history of the parish over the same period, and in particular to the process of farm amalgamation in the 18th century.
